The Good News
Who doesn’t like to hear good news? Good news that your husband is getting a raise and a promotion. Good news that your daughter is expecting your first grandchild. Good news that your mother-in-law is visiting for one week instead of three this year. Good news that the car repair bill is going to be $90 dollars when the original estimate was over $400.00.
Yes, in this day and age of 24/7 reporting of doom and gloom, who doesn’t want to hear good news!
In Christian circles, when people ask if you have heard the “good news,” they are referring to the ULTIMATE GOOD NEWS.
God knew from the time He created us that we would need a Savior. He knew we would all fall short. He designed from the beginning a way for us to live with Him in heaven forever. A way that we would transition from this world to heaven without tasting the sting of death.
He put in place His plan so that when our children and loved ones passed on, they would simply be waiting for us on the other side. That we would be able to spend eternity with them. That our tears would stop falling. That our bodies would be made well. Oh yes, this is the ultimate good news.
So, do what you do when you receive any good news, spread it! Let the stories of how Jesus has transformed your life be shared with your co-workers, friends and relatives. Let the light of Jesus shine so brightly in you that you won’t even have to say a word – people will ask what happened to you and want what you have.
Let those in your circle of influence know the needs that Jesus has met in your life. Pray with them for their needs so they too can find what you have found!
